What’s your budget for Flowers? $100, $250, $500?

How about $125, 000!?

Made of 90 gemstones, 9 diamonds, 1 star-shaped ruby and orchids galore, this is the most expensive wedding bouquet in the world and it’s in the (Vietnamese) Guinness Book of Records and displayed at the ritzy-ist of all hotels – the Ruby Plaza in Hanoi.

Just thought we’d put budget aside for a couple of seconds to marvel….

k, back to our budget! 🙂

On Hydrangeas…

On Monday, July 14th, my husband and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and one of the ways to celebrate, we bought two blooming hydrangea plants to plant in our new house. These are the pink ones and absolutely gorgeous and so that got my wedding coordinating mind on a search for bouquets that showcase the hydrangea…and wow, was I pleased! 🙂 Aren’t these beautiful?

When coming back from our walk that morning, my husband pointed out that we had two new blooms on a up-to-that-point unidenitifed bush in our backyard. Well, it turns out that it’s a Rose of Sharon bush, blooming the delicate paper-like blue flowers. What’s so interesting is that of the whole huge bush, there are two that enthusiastically bloomed before any of the others did. Being a Christian couple, we know the Rose of Sharon is referenced in the Bible and signifies specialness, virtue, beauty, glory and fruitfulness. It’s fitting that it was on our anniversary and that there were 2 flowers! And that shade of blue is my favorite color! 🙂

Thanks to God for giving us that precious anniversary gift!
